Surf’s Up at Library Day!
SATURDAY, MAY 14, 2022
Surf’s up at Smiley Library! Come down to Smiley Park on Saturday, May 14 for family fun. This year’s theme reflects the importance of the Pacific Ocean to Southern California’s cultural identity.
The day will begin at 10am with a special historical presentation in the Assembly Room, followed by games, face painting, and more in Smiley Park. Local band Arena Red performs live from 11:30am-2pm, which you can enjoy while feasting on a complimentary In-N-Out lunch (while supplies last).
Round out the day with a screening of the classic 1959 film “Gidget”, starring Sandra Dee, in The Contemporary Club at 2pm.
Treasures from the Heritage Room will also be on display for a “Seaside Rendezvous” of historical materials in the Reference Wing of the Library.
Sponsored by a generous grant from Esri, it’s a day of fun that you and your family won’t want to miss!
